When are volunteers needed: Trustees attend a 2-hour early evening online meeting once every 2 months, plus an Annual AGM.
They are also welcome to give time as a volunteer at monthly activities for our members, or to assist with fundraising events, or our annual Deaf Services Fair.

Role description:
Lollipop was established in 2004 to offer support to deaf children, young people and their families in York and North Yorkshire whatever their degree of deafness (mild to profound).

Lollipop is looking for a detail-driven, organised, and committed individual to join our Board of
Trustees as Secretary to the Trustees. This is a vital role that helps keep our governance strong
and our work running smoothly.

What you'll do:
• Accurately record minutes during online Trustee meetings normally held once every 2 months.
• Type up and distribute minutes in a clear, accessible format.
• Contribute to a warm, collaborative Board culture that centres deaf children, young people, and their families.

Skills and behaviours needed for the role:
• Strong written communication and attention to detail
• Confidence with typing and organising documents
• Reliability and a calm, professional approach
• An interest in charity governance or supporting a small, impactful organisation
• No previous Trustee experience required — we welcome people who are keen to learn
• Experience of deafness, either from lived experienced, having a family member who is deaf, or from previous work is desirable but not essential.
