Location of voluntary activity:
Mostly remote (at home) but Board meetings currently take place in our office at The Raylor Centre, James St, York, YO10 3DW. We would also be able to offer desk space if working in our office was preferred.

When are volunteers needed: The Board meets six times a year, once every two months.

Outside of that, the duties of the role can be done around your own commitments.

Role description:
In advance of an upcoming retirement York Neighbours are seeking an organised, dependable and community-minded volunteer to join our Board of Trustees as our Treasurer.

The Treasurer plays a key role in managing the charity's financial records, as well as contributing to the strategic leadership of the organisation - supporting now over 640 York residents aged over 65 to keep living independently, enjoy social connection, and feel part of the community.

Time commitment
- Six Board meetings each year.
- Around 4-8 hours per month undertaking Treasurer responsibilities.
- Occasional involvement in charity events or other activities where appropriate.

Skills and behaviours needed for the role:
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with some financial or book-keeping experience who wants to use or develop their skills while making a tangible, positive difference within the community.
