Role description:
Role Purpose
Acting collectively as a board, the trustees set the vision, mission and strategic direction of the organisation, based on the charity’s stated objects as defined in its governing document (Memorandum and Articles of Association). Trustees have statutory responsibilities for the financial stability and good governance of the charity.
Skills and behaviours needed for the role:
We welcome applications from all age groups and backgrounds, and we are particularly looking for skills and experience in the following areas: fundraising and income generation; retail - from high street outlets to online shopping; building stakeholder relationships and co-production; legal expertise. Even if you don’t have a background in these specific areas, we would still be keen to hear from you if you feel you have transferrable skills, could bring a different perspective, energy and enthusiasm to the role, and are motivated by this opportunity to help make a positive difference to the lives of older people in York. Board and/or senior level management experience would be helpful, although not essential.

Applicants should reside in York or the surrounding area to have sufficient knowledge of the local environment and communities.
