Role description:
Volunteers at our Acomb Hub Club support our staff to provide a full day of fun, activity and friendship for people with dementia. The group is designed to provide meaningful activity for the person with dementia, while their carers benefit from respite time. Volunteers ensure people feel well supported and welcomed; they chat, support with activities, help with refreshments and help create a warm, safe environment.
Skills and behaviours needed for the role:
No previous experience is necessary. We are looking for warm, caring people who want to make a difference to the lives of the people we support. Training will be provided and there will be support at the group. If you enjoy music, games, chatting and being a part of a group all these would be beneficial.
