Do one thing to get your finances in shape
With the current cost of living support due to end in March 2024, now is the time to take control of money. The one thing to make the biggest difference is to make sure that you are getting all the income and benefits you’re entitled too.
To help you feel comfortable and in control of your finances, York Talk Money share tips and hints to make the most of your money. Whether it’s for your day-to-day spending, or to see you through planned and unplanned events, there are some easy steps to take: ·
Boost your income and get the money you’re entitled to
You can use an independent, free and anonymous benefits calculator to check what financial support you could be entitled to at Benefits calculators – GOV.UK (www.gov.uk) . Check out Benefits and money – City of York Council to find out about local support schemes.
If you’re over State Pension age and on a low income. Pension Credit can help with housing costs such as ground rent or service charges. You might get extra help too, if you’re a carer, are disabled, or responsible for a child or young person. Find out more at Pension Credit: Overview – GOV.UK (www.gov.uk)
