York Talk Money Week
York Talk Money is returning from 2 – 13 November 2026, helping residents across the city make the most of their money, access financial support and feel more confident talking about their finances.
Taking place alongside national Talk Money Week (2-6 November), this year’s campaign focuses on the theme ‘It All Counts’, recognising that small, manageable actions can make a meaningful difference when it comes to money.
With the continued cost-of-living pressures affecting many households, it’s important that people know where to turn for advice and what financial support may be available to them.
How York’s VCSE sector can get involved
Voluntary, community and social enterprise organisations play an important role in helping people access information, advice and support. Throughout York Talk Money, we’re encouraging organisations across the city to help raise awareness by sharing campaign information through their social media channels, newsletters, community spaces and conversations with the people they support.
Whether it’s displaying a poster, sharing a useful resource or helping someone find their local advice service, it all counts. You can also help promote the two community information events and encourage anyone who may benefit to come along.
Support is available throughout York
You don’t have to wait for a campaign event to access support. Around 20 regular community advice drop-ins take place across York each week, providing opportunities to speak to local services about money worries, benefits and other financial concerns. There is also support available online and over the phone.
Useful resources include:
- York Talk Money – campaign information and local support
- Live Well York – Talk Money – advice and resources to help make your money go further
- Benefits advice – information about financial support and how to access advice
- Benefits calculator – check what financial support you could be entitled to
- York Crisis and Resilience Fund – information about support for eligible residents experiencing urgent financial difficulties
