York Citywide Volunteering Pledge

In the spring of 2022, representatives from local Charities, Voluntary Organisations, City of York Council, volunteers and prospective volunteers came together to discuss what was important to them when it came to volunteering. The results of these discussions and surveys have culminated in the co-production of a new, five year, citywide volunteering strategy for York.

The York Citywide Volunteering Strategy is owned by several organisations across York who involve Volunteers. Each organisation has contributed to the action plan to explain how they will implement some of the areas of work.

We’re asking all organisations who involve volunteers to sign the York Citywide Volunteering Pledge. The pledge shows your organisation’s commitment to aspire to achieve the principles set out below. Your organisation doesn’t have to have all the principles in place now, but by signing the pledge you are showing your dedication to contributing towards a thriving culture of Volunteering in York.
