The Alzheimer’s Society in partnership with Age UK York have released their latest programme of new events in York. Each group and activity aims to connect those with dementia and allow people to socialise in a relaxed environment. Here is what is on offer:

 

Signing for the Brain

Every second and fourth Thursday of the month from 2pm – 4pm. Acomb Methodist Church, Front Street YO24 3BX.

Every Monday from 10am – 12pm. St James Deacon Church, 2 Sherringham, Woodthorpe YO24 2SE.

 

Gardening Club

Every fourth Tuesday of month from 10am – 1pm at Gale Farm Court, Front Street, Acomb, York, YO24 3DR.

Socialise and garden with other affected by dementia.

 

Honeysuckle Café

Every third Thursday of the month from 10.30am – 12.30pm. Honeysuckle House, Herdsman Road, Dringhouses, York YO24 2UL.

Connect with those affected by dementia in a relaxed place.

 

Dance Café

Second Tuesday of every month from 1.30pm – 3pm. Clements Hall, Nunthorpe Road, York YO23 1BW.

Dance and socialise with those affected by dementia.
