York Interfaith Group and York Mosque invite you to a special event celebrating the Mosque Open Weekend on Sunday 5 October 2025, from 2pm to 4pm at Bull Lane.

At 2.45pm, Professor Adeeba Malik CBE, DL will share her inspiring life journey as the first ethnic minority woman to be declared High Sheriff for West Yorkshire.

Adeeba is the Deputy Chief Executive of the QED Foundation, a national organisation supporting minority and disadvantaged communities. With a career spanning over three decades, she has served on a wide range of national and regional boards and was recently made Visiting Professor at York St John University.

This promises to be a powerful and insightful afternoon, open to all.
