Join York Together on Wednesday, 8 October for STEW: Round Two, running from 6:15 to 9 pm at the Bluebird Bakery in Acomb.

This is a community dinner with a twist. For just £8, guests will enjoy a hearty vegan stew, plus a hot or cold drink, while also deciding how grassroots funding is spent in York.

On the night, three local grassroots groups will pitch their projects in quickfire style. Everyone then votes on which project they think will have the biggest impact. The winner takes the largest share of the prize pot, which grows with every ticket sold. The other groups get a share too, so 100% of the money raised goes straight back into the community. Grab your ticket via the Bluebird Bakery Eventbrite page.

Anjelica Finnegan, Development Lead for York Together, said: “The first STEW event back in April was incredible. There was a full house, an electric atmosphere, and a real feeling of togetherness. We raised over £500 for three projects, and we hope we can do the same again for more groups in October.”

STEW is simple but powerful: gathering like-minded people around a shared meal and giving them the chance to decide how funds are spent. It’s community-led funding in action – local, fun, and making a real difference.
