To mark Cervical Cancer Awareness Month (January 2024) and Cervical Cancer Prevention Week (22 – 28 January 2024), the Humber and North Yorkshire Cancer Alliance is offering free bitesize awareness sessions.
Cervical cancer is the most preventable cancer and cervical screening can help identify changes in your cervix and the cells, before cervical cancer starts, yet over 120,000 people in the Humber and North Yorkshire area are not up-to-date with their cervical screening.
They want everyone to have the support and facts they need to feel comfortable to access cervical screening. The bitesize session will include;
- the signs and symptoms of cervical cancer
- Human Papillomavirus (HPV) and the HPV vaccination programme
- what happens at a cervical screening test
- hints, tips and experiences that will help women and people with a cervix feel more able to book a test.
The sessions are open to anyone living or working in Humber and North Yorkshire. To reserve your place, please visit the Eventbrite booking page.
Learn about the different ways you can reduce your cervical cancer risk by visiting the Humber and North Yorkshire Cancer Alliance website.
