Expressions of interest are now open for the NHS England Enhancing Generalist Skills programme, delivered by the Yorkshire and the Humber Generalist School.

The programme is open to staff working in health and care across North Yorkshire, including York, Scarborough, Harrogate, Northallerton and primary care locations across the region. This includes colleagues working in primary, community and secondary care, as well as social care and the voluntary and charitable sectors.

The course is open to staff at any level and in any profession, whether clinical or non-clinical. Undergraduate students are not eligible.

About the programme

Successful applicants will join a cohort of 25 multi-professional staff from clinical and non-clinical backgrounds. The fellowship runs part-time over 12 months and requires a commitment of around four hours per week.

The programme aims to build a shared language and understanding of generalist skills and competencies. It supports participants to better understand, navigate and deliver complex, comprehensive services across the health and care system.

Who should apply

This opportunity may be particularly relevant for colleagues in the VCSE sector who are working alongside health and social care partners, supporting people with complex needs, or leading change across services.
