York and Scarborough Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust would like to invite VCSE colleagues, volunteers and individuals with lived experience to participate in a Carers Improvement Plan Task and Finish Group.
The first meeting will take place on Thursday 7 November, 11am – 12.30pm, online.
One area the Trust is currently focusing on is the experience of carers. They would like to invite individuals with an interest and experience in this are to be a member of a task and finish group to help them develop a Trust improvement plan for carers.
It is anticipated that meetings will take place virtually every 4 –6 weeks over the next six months with meetings being between 90 minutes to one hour in duration.
The task and finish group will be chaired by Caroline Dunn, Associate Chief Nurse, Community and the first meeting will take place on 7 November between 11am and 12.30pm and agenda will follow.
The following meetings will take place:
- Monday 6 December 2024, 2.30pm – 4pm
- Monday 3 February 2025, 9.30am – 11am
- Thursday 6 March, 10.30am – 12pm
- Thursday 17 April, 10am – 11.30am
For this framework, they are using the following definitions for the types of carers:

Adult Carers (An adult caring for another adult)

Parent carers/Family carers (guardian providing care for a child)

Sandwich carers (caring for different generations)

Young adult carer (18 – 25-year-olds caring for another adult or child)

Young carers (5 – 18-year-olds person providing care).

Kinship carer (caring for a child when their parents are unable to).
