Carers Rights Day takes place on 24 November and is a day to raise awareness and focus on the rights of people who care for a family member or friend.

To mark the day York Carers Centre are inviting unpaid carers to join them at their Planning for Your Future event on Friday 25 November, 10am to 2pm at the Priory Street Centre.

Whether you’re a new carer or have been caring for someone for a while, they believe that it’s important that you understand your rights and that you are able to access support when you need it.

There will be presentations from professionals, who will also be available afterwards to answer your questions individually, about:

  • Lasting Power of Attorney, Wills and Trusts
  • Independent Financial Advice
  • Paying for Care
  • Benefits
  • Social Care

Lunch and drinks are included, and you are welcome to bring the person you care for.
