Community First Yorkshire’s Loneliness Campaign North Yorkshire

The Loneliness Campaign North Yorkshire (TLC), which was managed by Community First Yorkshire officially came to an end on 31 March 2021, but the lasting legacy of the project still remains with the aim of tackling loneliness across North Yorkshire.

Community First Yorkshire published Be Social, Be Well: A strategic framework for tackling loneliness in North Yorkshire in September 2020. This publication not only highlights all the local work being done to tackle loneliness already in North Yorkshire, but outlines services to help prevent people becoming lonely and includes a framework for action to help those working in local services and community groups think about, talk about and act on loneliness

Other resources from the campaign include:

  • Voices of North Yorkshire – a collection of different people’s experiences of loneliness both before and during the Covid-19 lockdown.
  • Combatting Loneliness Through Volunteering – Information and resources to showcase how volunteering can help alleviate loneliness and help volunteers stay connected, including a podcast from Marie Curie volunteers.
  • Workplace Loneliness – A fact sheet and toolkit for businesses to highlight and start a conversation about loneliness in the workplace.
