Trustees are often the unsung heroes of our local charities and voluntary groups quietly giving their time, skills and energy to help organisations thrive. Their decisions shape strategy, safeguard good governance and ensures that vital services continue to support our communities.
This Trustees’ Week (3 – 7 November 2025), we think it’s time to shine a spotlight on them.
With the support of a generous donor, York CVS is inviting 12 outstanding York trustees to join us for a special Afternoon Tea at The Grand Hotel, York. This is our way of saying a heartfelt thank you for all they do behind the scenes to strengthen the voluntary, community and social enterprise (VCSE) sector in our city.
How it works
We’re asking for nominations from local organisations who know a trustee who goes above and beyond. All nominees will be recognised as part of our Trustees’ Week celebrations, and 12 will be selected at random to enjoy this special afternoon together.
Whether it’s steering a small community group through a challenging year, driving innovation in a growing charity, or providing expert support and guidance, we want to hear about trustees whose dedication makes a real difference.
Why this matters
Trustees’ work is often behind the scenes, but their impact is felt everywhere – in stronger organisations, better services, and healthier, more connected communities. This celebration is about recognising their contribution, sharing their stories and inspiring others to step forward into trustee roles.
