The local NHS across Humber and North Yorkshire has launched an engagement exercise to ask how we want our local NHS to change to meet the challenges of today and the demands of the future.

The ‘Our NHS – We need to talk’ survey and engagement activities are open to everyone and ask respondents to share their ideas on how the NHS can:

  • Use technology better
  • Improve the way we plan and organise our workforce to boost efficiency, adaptability, and job satisfaction
  • Focus on preventing illness rather than just treating it
  • Listen to your needs and involve everyone in this conversation
  • Move more care into the community
  • Ensure patient safety and consistent high-quality care everywhere
  • Focus on what matters most

The Our NHS. The next chapter – Case for Change document outlines the reasons why change is needed and why your opinions matter.

Why it’s so important for VCSE organisations to get involved?

The Voluntary, Community and Social Enterprise (VCSE) sector is a crucial part of the delivery of health and care services across Humber and North Yorkshire. Our voice and the opinions of the people we work with, and support are crucial to building a health and care system that is fit to respond to today’s challenges and be there to meet the demands of the future.

Gary Sainty, Head of VCSE, Humber and North Yorkshire Integrated Care Board, said:

“As a sector, our agility and ability to respond to local need is one of our key strengths. We know our communities and we know how to respond to their needs. This engagement exercise provides a great opportunity for the sector to share our ideas, knowledge, and expertise, so we would encourage you to complete the survey from your organisation’s perspective.

We would also like to ask you to share this survey and the engagement opportunities with the people you work with, as their lived experiences and their ideas are needed so we can start to do things differently to provide the services we need for our communities.”

The closing date for this survey is 11 November 2024.
