It’s Small Charity Week this week (19 – 23 June) and as well as sharing all the national events and resources with you, we’re also going to share what support is available locally for your Voluntary, Community and Social Enterprise (VCSE) organisation.

As the first day of Small Charity Week is Celebration Day, we’re encouraging you to celebrate everything you do for York’s communities throughout the week and beyond.

“As a sector, we’re so busy doing the doing that we often don’t have capacity to reflect and share all the incredible work we do in York, individually and collectively! This Small Charity Week, on behalf of everyone at York CVS, we’d like to recognise and celebrate York’s VCSE sector for everything you do for our city!

Alison Semmence, Chief Executive, York CVS

Celebrate your organisation by sharing your story

In York we have over *800 VCSE organisations, and of these organisations over 80% are classed as small charities (defined by Small Charity Week as organisations with an income of under £1m). Together with our VCSE sector colleagues across Humber and North Yorkshire our employees deliver around 38 million hours of work annually, and our volunteers (around 128,000 of them!) provide the equivalent of 9 million hours of work!

These are really impressive stats but what really shows our impact as a sector is our stories. Here’s some resources that might help you share yours…
