From wellbeing groups to bereavement support, St Leonard’s Hospice has some exciting new services along with continued successful groups. Find out more below and stay tuned to their website for the latest developments.
Bereavement Support
The bereavement team continues to offer one-to-one support via self-referral (01904 777 760). They also have two bereavement support groups running from 2pm to 4pm on the first and third Tuesdays of the month. There is an option to let them know you are coming on their website (Grief – St Leonard’s Hospice (stleonardshospice.org.uk) or just turn up!
Sunflower Wellbeing Hubs
Sunflower Wellbeing Hub drop-in from the Sunflower Centre at St Leonard’s Hospice on a Thursday morning between 10am and 12.30pm.
Arts and Crafts for Wellbeing:
Arts and Crafts for Wellbeing is a group for people living with a life-limiting illness. Starting on Monday 26 February these sessions will run every second and fourth Monday of the month between 1pm and 3pm (except on bank holiday Mondays). This service can be accessed via self-referral on the St Leonard’s Hospice website Arts and crafts group booking form – St Leonard’s Hospice (stleonardshospice.org.uk). This service will offer six sessions for up to 12 people with two places reserved per week for patients on the IPU.
MND drop-in and complementary therapy:
This takes place on the first and third Wednesdays of the month. This service has been developed in association with the MND Association York Group who has provided funding to pilot a complementary therapy offering for people living with motor neurone disease. Referrals for complementary therapy will be accepted from the MND specialist nurses. They will also be running an MND drop-in between 1pm and 3pm on the same dates. This is open to anyone living with MND and does not require a referral. Just turn up!
Coming soon
Breathlessness self-directed education resources to launch in March. This will be on a self-referral basis and will help shape our offer of breathlessness services for the future. Stay tuned for more details, which will be available on the website from March.
