Role description:
Working as part of the board of Directors, you will have a great opportunity to shape the future of Partners in Dementia at an exciting point in our history.
Whether you have experience and want to share it, or a passion to get involved and want to learn, then we could have the role for you. The roles are voluntary. You will need time to undertake the activities required for this role. This time is negotiable and dependent on how you’d like to contribute. Other board responsibilities include attending regular board meetings.
Director roles allow you to gain experience working at a board/strategic level and learn what is involved, so no previous experience as a Director is required. While some of our Directors have personal or professional experience of dementia and/or caring. You will bring unique insights for our organisation as an Expert by Experience.
Skills and behaviours needed for the role:
We are seeking an individual with dementia to contribute to the development of our organisation. This could include:
• Making recommendations about how to improve the way our organisation supports people with dementia.
• Creating or reviewing reports on our organisations work.
• Chairing board meetings.
• Writing or documenting about your experiences for conferences and/ or
articles.
• Other things you can think of we haven’t thought of.
Support will be provided for this role if it is needed.
