When are volunteers needed: We would like help at our regular groups for young people which take place on the 1st and 3rd Tuesday of the month, between the hours of 4.30pm and 6.30pm. We would also welcome volunteers who are able to help out during school holidays. Times will differ depending upon the activities. A commitment of 6 months+ would be helpful.
Student volunteers are also welcome to contact us to chat about placement opportunities.
A driving licence and access to a vehicle is not essential, but volunteers who can drive and also have access to their own vehicle are very welcome to apply.

We believe that all young people should have an equal chance to grow and realise their potential. We can offer a blend of structured, regular, ad-hoc and micro volunteering opportunities and the chance to work with a group of resilient and inspirational young people.
Our dynamic young carers team are keen to hear from volunteers who are willing to help with planning and coordinating our youth groups, school drop ins and half term trips and activities.
Your support will help unpaid carers age 5-18 across the city of York.

What will the volunteer gain/benefit from:
This role provides the opportunity to build on existing communication, interpersonal and other skills such as organisational and IT skills.
All volunteers will have access to staff support, a chance to meet other volunteers, access to all induction training such as Carer Awareness Training, Safeguarding Training, Young Carers, Young Adult Carers and Adult Carers online Training, as well as any other free training that is made available to us.
In addition this role can be used as a platform to get involved in other volunteering opportunities at York Carers Centre.
This is a chance to make a difference by helping young people living in incredibly difficult circumstances, feel supported at social groups and meaningful fun activities.
