“One of our key areas of work at York CVS is to reduce inequality through social action. So, this fund is central to supporting the development of York’s VCSE sector to build its capacity to deliver quality services that meet the needs of our communities”.

“As a support and development charity, we’re also in a really unique position to be able to offer specialist support to ensure your club, group or organisation has everything in place to be able to submit an application to the fund. And please do contact us as soon as possible if you have any questions about the fund.”

More about the Ways to Wellbeing Social Prescribing Small Grants Fund

Ways to Wellbeing has delivered an annual small grants fund for several years and has distributed nearly £100,000 to develop and strengthen York’s voluntary, community and social enterprise (VCSE) sector to enable them to support York’s communities. This year they are delighted to be collaborating with the City of York Council to distribute £20,000 from the NHS’s Better Care Fund and Public Health team who has allocated an additional £30,000 to reduce health inequality in the city.

The NHS has allocated money to regional bodies called Integrated Care Systems, for them to distribute in their local areas. This money is being used in new ways to tackle health inequality, by funding VCSE sector work and encouraging more collaboration between the NHS, Local Authorities and the VCSE sector. It is £30,000 from this source that the City of York Public Health team has allocated for distribution via the W2W Small Grants Fund 2022.
