York Bike Belles CIC is a non-profit organisation that works to make walking, cycling and nature activities accessible for everyone in York. Their 2024/25 annual report shows a big increase in the number and range of free activities offered, reaching hundreds of residents across the city.

From inclusive group walks and rickshaw rides to nature workshops and community gardening, the activities have supported people of all ages, including older residents and those living with disabilities. The response has been clear: many said they feel healthier, more active and better connected to their communities and to nature.

In their words: “Your generous support last time enabled us to win funding that has supported our work in York for the last 18 months.”

As part of our wider work to strengthen York’s voluntary, community and social enterprise sector, York CVS supported York Bike Belles with funding guidance. This is just one of many examples of how local organisations are helping people to stay well and feel well.
