Over the past year, we’ve conducted research into different voluntary responses to Covid-19. This study explored the views towards each voluntary programme from those who volunteered and those who organised voluntary support for patients or were Referrers to the programmes.

This research answers questions like:

  • Were COVID-response Volunteers new to volunteering?
  • How positive were Volunteers and Referrers experiences with different voluntary programmes?
  • Where are the best places to advertise volunteer opportunities?
  • How was Volunteer diversity affected by different programmes’ approaches?
  • Was there duplication of effort between Voluntary programmes?
  • How should we respond to similar crises in future?
  • and many others…

We hope the resultant report will provide useful learnings that can help organisations to recruit, manage and support Volunteers better and to design and deliver effective voluntary services for beneficiaries of the service and for referrers to the service.

The Summary report shows a quick overview of the headline findings.

The Full Report provides more in-depth findings, overviews of each voluntary programme from different stakeholders’ perspectives, more responses to questions and other useful insights not covered in the Summary.
